Hanky Edging Completed

We spent sometime watching the Jubilee flotilla going down the Thames on TV yesterday, and of course, while I watched, I tatted.  And completed the purple hanky edging.

I'm not normally a massive fan of this type of variegated thread...
(in this case, Altin Basak 50)
but I think it looks alright on this handkerchief
complimenting the corner design quite well.

With elderflower and wisteria from the garden.

Tomorrow we shall be going to London to watch the Queen riding from Westminster to Buckingham palace in her golden carriage and enjoying whatever else is going on during the last day of the Jubilee weekend in the capital.

Best wishes,

    1. Hi Maureen,

Of course, for you it was the morning! Whereas for us it was in the evening... our village lit a beacon at 22:00 as part of all the beacons being lit across the country before the Queen lit the last one at the end of the concert. Great fireworks!

  5. Very pretty and very quick! Yes, variegated thread isn't appropriate for all projects. I think it tends to work well in a pattern that is all rings, like this one, or all chains.

  6. Beautiful, The colour is gorgeous and goes so well with hanky. I was watching the floatier with mother, it's a pity it rained.

Hope you have a lovely day in London .

  8. I watched all the festivities today on Today show. I love the Royal family and think you are so fortunate to be able to be there in person. I have to watch it from across the Pond.

  10. The colours for the edging work perfectly well for the hanky with the motif! Perfect!

  11. Perfection - as is all your work! This hanky is beautifully made, and your edging has totally enhanced it! I agree that variegated works well with an all-ring pattern, and the color you've used is a perfect match. It's just exceptional, and beautifully photographed!
